KLIA, 6 May 2021: Malaysia Airlines opens an opportunity for interested candidates, especially SPM leavers to pursue a career in the aviation industry by enrolling in various technical aircraft engineering courses. The registration is opened from today until 15 July 2021 for this year’s intake.
Open to both males and females aged between 18 to 26 years old, interested candidates must meet the minimum requirement of having an SPM certificate with a credit for English and Science subjects, pass Bahasa Malaysia; and be medically fit.
The training is managed by the Engineering Training Department of Malaysia Airlines Berhad and complies with the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) and Aviation Authorities such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Operations Officer, Ahmad Luqman Md Azmi, said, "As the national carrier of Malaysia and a regional market leader, it is an honour to play our part in developing a trained and skilled workforce to ensure a steady talent pipeline for years to come for the sustainable growth of the industry. We are excited to develop and nurture new talents and our future aviators to be part of the aviation ecosystem. So, come and join us!”
Specialised in ensuring a steady talent pipeline in aviation-related fields, the Engineering Training Department offers various training and courses to those seeking to be aviation maintenance personnel with various engineering and maintenance training courses. In addition, the training caters for introductory and aircraft type courses for a wide range of aircraft types, including Viking DHC6-400, ATR72-500, B737-600/700/800/900, A320 families, A330, A350 and A380.
Added Luqman, “Malaysia Airlines has a great track record in producing high caliber Engineers and Technicians. As an approved maintenance and training organisation by the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM), our engineers and technicians are sought after by other airlines not only in Malaysia but even abroad. The training will serve as a stepping stone for the young graduates to also become corporate leaders. Today, we have over 400 aircraft registered in Malaysia, and we are expecting this number to grow in the next five years, which makes the demand for future talents. Our objective is to develop human capital and ensure that those who come out from Malaysia Airlines training are looked up to by all major aviation players locally and globally.”
