Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s Group Chief Operations Officer En. Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Malaysia Airlines Berhad's Director of Flight Operations, Captain Hamdan Ismail and the airline’s cabin crew attended the event to handover the contribution to the children of Baitul Mahabbah Rasah Kemayan in Seremban.
KLIA, 27 April 2021: In embracing the spirit of giving during Ramadan, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) yesterday sponsored Malaysia Airlines' inflight products consisting of 3500 sleeping masks and Dilmah teas for frontliners and COVID-19 patients currently being quarantined for COVID-19 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) Quarantine Centre in Serdang.
The contribution was handed over by Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s Head of Corporate Safety Oversight, Dato' Dr. Mohammad Razin Kamarulzaman to Director of COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC) 2.0 MAEPS, Dr. Shahabuddin Ibrahim. The ceremony was witnessed by YBhg. Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Bin Mentek, Secretary-General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, at the “Barakah Ramadan” event organised by the Department of Community Communications (DCCOMM), a newly established department under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM).
Recently, MAG donated over 50,000 hygiene items comprising toothbrushes and toothpaste to MAEPS Quarantine Centre that currently houses and cares for 5,000 COVID-19 patients for the state of Wilayah Persekutuan and Selangor, as part of the Group’s efforts to support the battle against COVID-19.
Separately, MAG employees organized a donation drive to assist children from Baitul Mahabbah Rasah Kemayan in Seremban and Muslimeen Care Academy in Shah Alam.
Led by the airline's cabin crew fraternity, the group handed over contributions of essential goods, groceries, and prayer clothing as well as Malaysia Airlines' official merchandise for children together with cash donations to the two homes recently. The event was attended by Malaysia Airlines Berhad's Group Chief Operations Officer En. Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Malaysia Airlines Berhad's Director of Flight Operations, Captain Hamdan Ismail, Head of Cabin Crew, Lynette Isaac and several cabin crew.
Ahmad Luqman said, "Following our reduced operational schedule due to the pandemic over the past year, Malaysia Aviation Group continues to find ways to make the best use of its inflight products. We are delighted to be able to contribute our inflight items that will now help frontliners and patients so that they have all they need during their quarantine.
Also, despite a turbulent year for us at MAG, it is heart-warming to see our cabin crew community still in high spirits to go above and beyond their call of duty to help others. This charitable and humanitarian initiative truly reflects the spirit of serving our community, which is central to our Company's core beliefs and purpose. Projects such as these reflect our dedication to supporting our community which is what Malaysian Hospitality is all about."
