Malaysia Airlines Features National Athletes in Hari Malaysia Video
KLIA, 15 September 2019: Malaysia Airlines released a video in celebration of Hari Malaysia, which features Pandelela Rinong as well as the airline’s ambassadors: national diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri, Paraglider Nadiah Wafa, Team Harimau Malaya and para-athletes under the wing of Team MAS.
In the video called Semangat Gemilang, Malaysian national diver and two-time Olympic medalist, Pandelela, shares with us what it feels like representing the country. The support from her family and peers, as well as the trust given by Malaysians, inspires her to be the best and achieve that one moment she gets on the podium, to show Malaysia to the world.
Also she shares with us her proudest moment, being the flag-bearer for the most important sports event in the world, representing Malaysians. The simple yet, symbolic moment of waving the Jalur Gemilang, rallies all of us Malaysians, to offer our support for the nation.
Pandelela’s experience as a flag bearer, inspires Malaysia Airlines to carry that same pride as it fliesto different parts of the world with the Jalur Gemilang on its aircraft. Malaysia Airlines celebrates Hari Malaysia by embracing unity, through its brand promise, Malaysian Hospitality.
Malaysia Aviation Group Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail said, “Hari Malaysia is a celebration of unity in diversity. It reminds us of the day Malaysia truly came together to become one nation under one flag – the Jalur Gemilang.
“And as we think about the events and occasions that unites us as a nation, regardless ofbackground or beliefs, we think of the times we come together to cheer for our national athletes during a game. That is what the video is all about. Coming together as one, and supporting each other for the good of the nation,” he said.
He added, “The Jalur Gemilang, which is also the symbol of unity, is often seen at global sporting events and it is also reflected on Malaysia Airlines’ aircrafts. Everywhere we go, it is easy to spot a version of the flag on our aircraft, reminding us of what it means to be a Malaysian.” The Malaysia Day video is available on Malaysia Airlines’ official social media channels: Youtube and Facebook.
